Fritos Honey BBQ Flavor Twists

Do you ever have those late-night snack attacks where you are aching for something delicious? Whenever this happens to me, I run to the local 7-Eleven (oh look, free advertising) and grab a bag of Fritos Honey BBQ Flavor Twists. While eating this bag, I decided to do a product review on it. If you haven’t experienced the greatness of these chips, then you haven’t lived.

The first thing you notice when you purchase this bag is that the chips are not the shape of a traditional Fritos chip. Notice on the bottom of the package, the chips are all little orange, curly looking things. These are obviously not plain Fritos. In fact, Fritos should just start a new brand and call it something like Corkscrews. Any good company knows that it needs to diversify its funds.

As usual, let’s take a look at the nutrition facts to make sure we’re not eating anything that will make us turn into balloons overnight. This moderately sized bag of chips contains five servings at 28 grams per serving size which is about 23 chips (or so they claim). Each serving only has 150 calories. Based upon a 2000 calorie diet (which is assumed to be a person’s normal diet, yeah right), you would only be eating 7.5% of your daily food intake. It should also be noted that there are 2 grams of protein per serving. So if you are a weight lifter and weight 150 pounds, make sure you eat 75 servings of these to fulfill your daily protein requirements. Last but not least, this product has a bunch of other goodies like calcium, iron, magnesium, vitamin E and phosphorus.

After analyzing the nutritional value of this great meal-replacement, I decided to do a flavor test. I opened the bag and proceeded to eat a couple chips. Immediately upon tasting the chip, there was an explosion of flavor in my mouth. What was this sensation? There was a taste of honey and barbeque and starchiness. I couldn’t stop eating these chips and what you see in the image here is the result. In the taste category I’m going to give this product an 8/10, but if I wanted to stop eating the chips, it would be extremely difficult because they taste so good. So in the “longevity” department, I will give the flavor twists a 0/10; they’ll never last in a room full of hungry college students. Overall, I highly recommend this product but if you want it to last, hide it from your friends.
